Editorial policy

Western Travel Journal aims to publish clear, careful travel writing that readers can assess and use. We distinguish general ideas from details that may change, and we do not present personal preference as a universal rule.

Accuracy and clarity

We check the wording and reasoning in our articles before publication, explain uncertainty where it matters and avoid unsupported claims. Travel details can change, so readers should confirm time-sensitive arrangements with the relevant provider before relying on them. Our articles offer general information, not a substitute for checking current requirements or conditions.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for reader relevance and usefulness. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable opinion or a particular editorial conclusion. We do not invent first-hand testing, research, quotations, people or organizations.

Corrections

We take credible reports of errors seriously. When a correction is warranted, we update the affected article and make the change clear where the error could alter a reader's understanding. Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page, including the article title and the detail in question.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid placements and other material created as part of a partnership are clearly labelled as such, separate from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where an illustration could be mistaken for a documentary image, we identify it accordingly.

Our point of view

Travel well by noticing more and carrying less

A good trip need not be expensive or tightly scheduled. We value sound preparation, adaptable plans and attention to the places a journey passes through.
